Samuel Samuka Henrique
Diagnosed with cancer at 13, Samuel “Samuka” Henrique, had the life changing event of having his leg amputated at 14. After feeling like he might never dance again, a close friend convinced him to continue pursuing his passion to break dance. Originally from Brazil, in 2010 Samuka started to dance through the Express Action Project in the city of Recanto Das Emas. Through his endless determination and positive mindset, he developed into an elite breaker and performer.
He has competed in competitions globally including placing 1st in Undisputed World Final and Lille Battle International. He is currently a member of the Herve Koubi French dance company, Df zulu Breakers and the international crew iLL-abilities. In 2024, he appeared on America’s Got Talent where his debut performance received over 60 million views.
Samuka opened the break dancing competition for the 2024 Paris Olympics as well as performing at the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2024 Paralympics. He is one of only 16 break dancers competing in the 2024 red bull bc one event in Brazil—often considered the best break dancing competition in the world.
